Announcing Job Lab '10

Given the economic state, one must wonder: "What the h___ is the Cloud Slam Event Team thinking" A job fair - plenty of people looking (high demand), but few companies are hiring (low supply). The simplest of all economic models. Well, yes times are rather challenging and many folks that have a job are uneasy about the future. In some respects the Job Fair event was born from discussions and ideas we received during our 2009 event. Many presenters, attendees, and sponsors brought to light that a virtual Job Fair conference would be ideal to bring together the leading companies in the Cloud Computing/Virtualization space and the bright minds of today and the future. At first, we considered the pro's and con's of such event. For example, one of the main topic of discussion was the value such event would bring to the community we are serving - besides the obvious one. Additionally, we had to consider the format and mission of such event. Many hours and heated discussions later we decided to go for it. To a great extend because of you our partners, who kept on driving us to not give up the idea.

So here we are in April 2010 starting to prepare for our first virtual Job Lab event. We are reaching out to companies that might be interested to support the event. Either financially, or via other promotional contributions. No support is turned away!
